Total Graphics Going Online




           

Project Overview

This is a case study which outlines a three year project to design, build, commission and implement a complete web to print and online sales and marketing solution for Total Graphics. The systems were linked both in a software and business sense so that the company would have all the tools and systems in place not only to utilize the production system but to link that functionality to the Sales and Marketing efforts of their Sales force.


Challenge

Total Graphics based in the heart of of commercial Dublin understood that the world of traditional printing was irrevocably changing and they viewed the onset of the Internet as a positive force to use but only if that technology could be harnessed to add value to their business proposition and to enable them as a company to cut costs and to increase their margins and trade commercially with their present and future clients.
The company wanted to implement online technology to not only satisfy their present clients as regards offering value added processes and services but also to increase the ability of the company to generate new sales and offer new innovative services and products and vitally to increase their traditional geographical area as regards sales revenue growth.

Solution

Total Graphics in conjunction with their software developer partners mapped out in detail both their functional and logistic targets for the proposed system.

A detailed workflow diagram was created which included not only all the functionality of the proposed web to print system but also a series of detailed discussions on how to successfully sell the system proposed in conjunction with their current sales and marketing plan.

An agreement to link both the online production system with the sales message expressed on their website was agreed and both systems where commissioned to be built in tandem, as the project progressed the importance of combining the system benefits with the overall sales and marketing program emerged. How do you really sell the benefits of online web to print technology to clients who are used to a very traditional mode of trading?

The online system was developed over a three year time frame with the ease of use of the functionality the critical issue, online job status, template creation, customer service as regards Video connection etc where all mapped out built and rigorously tested prior to being implemented. In conjunction the Total Graphics web site was completely reconstructed both graphically and also as to content emphasize the sales message which was to position the company as a unique entity utilizing the benefits of the worldwide web with facilities in place to easily and efficiently trade not only with their traditional partners in Dublin and Ireland but to extend their scope to Europe.

The new web site was equipped with powerful marketing tools such as an Enewsletter facility and it has  the ability to change any area of the site to reflect new products and services included going forward.

Result

The company launched the complete solution at the start of February and are already seeing real practical benefits in enhanced customer satisfaction, increased margins,  and new sales prospects emerging from the resulting increased sales presence in the marketplace.
