Situated in the suburbs of Birmingham Media Solutions have in combination with a major European company embarked on a web2print journey that is an exercise in both parties gaining significant benefits as regards their commercial partnership.
“Our client who has an international reputation wanted to quantify the brand image particularly as regards colour across a whole range of business stationery and advertising literature “said Chris Small Managing Director.
However they have a large group of local offices scattered all over the UK and Europe so the key question was how to be able to take the orders from the individual offices produce and deliver next day to each location.
Chris then addressed the issue of Web2print technology and looked at a wide range of products as regards his clients needs.
“We wanted to make sure that the online proposal to our customer took in the inexperience of the local offices as regards ability to amend live templates and to process them to a successful ordering process including pricing and delivery details etc”.
Our decision was to work with Mediatoolbox Limited on this project.
We had a series of meetings with our client listening closely to how at present stationery and other product was ordered and the difficulties and issues arising from that process.
Tony O’ Neill Managing Director of Mediatoolbox takes up the story “ following our meetings with the client we embarked on creating a workflow and functionality specifically not to daunt the first time user, we used large graphical icons with a powerful calculation tool so that a great deal of the calculations where done at the backend rather than in front of the users, as we built the application we several times met with the proposed users working together to make sure that they where comfortable and critically understood the technology.
The client simply logs in selects from a graphical list there piece of stationery that they want to produce and opens the template amends the template, saves, proofs the document, enters the quantity and delivery address, and system calculates costs including delivery.
“The system is simple and easy to use; it works and allows us as a company to deliver to our client a superb, easy and efficient method of ordering, and drastically reducing costs on a day to day basis whilst making sure the company brand stays absolutely stable as regards colour”.
